As part of the transdisciplinary teaching blocks, 34 students from each of the IFSEA themes, accompanied by their professors had the opportunity to spend 2 days, on September 28 and 29, 2023, in total immersion in the maritime district of Capécure.
The students had the opportunity to discover the richness of the socio-economic context of Boulogne-sur-Mer, which is strongly oriented towards fishing, and to understand the strategic importance of the fisheries sector, with a backdrop of sustainability, circular economy, and environmental preservation concepts.
Divided into multidisciplinary groups, the students were able to work together, leveraging their different but complementary disciplinary knowledge to grasp the complexity of the fisheries sector.
This program was made possible with the support of the collective ‘Boulogne-sur-Mer, la mer en direct’ and its network of partners.
Finally, the visit to the Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque allowed the students to understand the economic and environmental challenges it faces.
