IFSEA students at the « Assises de l’économie de la mer » on November 28-29, 2023 in Nantes

Eight students from four IFSEA masters programs (EMAH, PAUL, ICL and ITM, from the Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale and the Université d’Artois), accompanied by Frida Lasram, director of the Graduate School, had the opportunity to attend the “Assises de l’économie de la mer”, held in Nantes on November 28 and 29, 2023.

This major meeting of the French maritime community, which this year focused on sovereignty, was an opportunity for students to meet with political, economic and military decision-makers from the maritime world.

Round tables and speeches focused on energy, food and logistics sovereignty, as well as military, economic and cyber sovereignty, giving students a resolutely trans-disciplinary vision of the major issues at stake.

An exchange (and a photo!) with French President Emmanuel Macron, a discussion with Ms. Annick Girardin, Minister for the Sea from 2020 to 2022, and an internship offer for a PAUL Master’s student were the highlights for IFSEA students.
